How do I request funding for a conference?

AGSP has limited (an usually low) funding. We use a significant portion of this funding to help AGSP members (i.e. philosophy graduate students) attend conferences in which they are either giving a paper or moderating.

But before you apply for AGSP funding, keep these things in mind:

• The Graduate School gives out funding on a first-come, first-serve basis. They give around $300 for a conference (more than AGSP gives). You can only get a travel stipend from the Graduate School once per year, and you must notify them in advance. However, the process is simple. Travel Request forms are available here.
  
• AGSP only gives money to those who are presenting, commenting or moderating. Merely attending is not enough. (The same is true of the Graduate School.)
• Since AGSP runs on a first-come, first-serve basis, if you plan on getting AGSP funding, you should apply for funding well in advance. If you apply afterward, AGSP may not have any money to grant.
