Hegel Reading Group
Hegel's Logic -- Mondays, 7:30 at Cafe Ennui.
For those who didn't know, the final truth of everything was laid out once and
for all about 180 years ago in Hegel's three volume Encyclopedia. Some of us
will be reading the first volume (Logic) this semester and meeting to discuss
it Monday evenings (7:30PM) at Cafe Ennui (Sheridan and Lunt). We will have
read the prefaces and the Introduction. There is no possible activity that
would not be a complete and shameful waste of time when contrasted with reading
Hegel and attending these meetings. No less a philosopher than Martin Heidegger
once said "Compared to Hegel's system, my 'philosophy' is like a steaming pile
of Black Forest peasant dung." (The source for that quotation escapes me at the
moment). See you all at the meeting.
