In memory of the life and work of Hans Seigfried, the Loyola Philosophy Department invites graduate student submissions for the 2007 Brennan Conference:
Social Inquiry: Constructing the Political
(March, 16-18, 2007)

Richard Bernstein, The New School for Social Research
Larry Hickman, Southern Illinois University – Carbondale

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: December 1st, 2006
Hans Seigfried had many wide-ranging interests. In keeping with his broad area of inquiry and Loyola tradition, we encourage submissions from many philosophical perspectives and methodologies that wish to address the titular theme, including, but not limited to:
Pragmatism, feminism, critical theory, Marxism, deconstruction, phenomenology, hermeneutics, analytic history of philosophy, psychoanalysis, and poststructuralism.
Submission Requirements:
1. Papers should be no longer than 3000 words in length (20 minutes reading time)--2-3 page argument summaries will also be accepted
2. Please include a brief abstract (100-150 words) of your paper along with your submission
3. Please include a title page with author’s name, address, phone number and email address.
4. Review of papers will be blind. Please do not have any author-identifying information in the body of the paper.
